Semi-Annual Framing Frenzy - Saturday, February 13. Here's your opportunity to save 20% on your custom-frame order. Bring your completed needlework and give Sandy some guidelines about your likes and dislikes, pay a $20 deposit, and she will do the rest. She has an amazing artistic ability to select the perfect frame to beautifully enhance your needlework, and she uses only the finest framing materials for your heirloom, including treating the rabbet edge so that the highly acidic wood doesn't come in contact with your needlework. Turn-around time can be six weeks plus, depending on the number of orders written, and during this special framing sale no orders taken as part of this sale will be available for completion with a due date.
Despite heroic attempts to recover data from a dead computer, the subscriber list for The Attic's Newsletter has been lost. If you signed up to receive the Newsletter prior to mid-January 2010, please go through the Mailing Signup process again. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
The first Sampler of the Month for 2010 is "272 Words" from Elizabeth/Primrose Needleworks. It is a bicentennial chronicle of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address stitched on linen. Jean has been a Lincoln fan for decades, and has many books on him, his wife, Mary, their family, and his presidency in her personal collection. Now, thanks to Primrose Needleworks, we all can stitch this American historical masterpiece. For more on the design process, the significance of the date and the timeless words visit Elizabeth's blog, "The Making of an American Sampler."
You, may save 15% during January on this sampler by your purchase of the following:
The chart ($24) with 40c linen over 1 with 2-inch margins ($14) ~ over 2 with 2-inch margins ($34), or the thread (Belle Soie is $45.50 ~ Gentle Art Sampler Thread with 10-yard skeins, which is all we stock, is $24).
The prices quoted above are before the discount is applied. Choosing a different-count linen, i.e., 36, 32, or 28, will necessarily increase the cost of the linen as well as the thread required.
