Welcome to the website of Attic Needlework & Collectibles, a retail needlework store located in Mesa, Arizona. Our store specializes in samplers, hardanger, and counted-thread embroidery.
The first project for June is "A Patriot's Sampler" from the Midsummer Night Designs. Within 30 minutes of this sampler's arrival in our mailbox Jean had taken her first stitches using Belle Soie on a 40-count blue linen from Lakeside (our model on the right).

During June save 15% on your purchase of the chart ($11) + linen ($16 for the 40c cut with 2-inch margins) and/or threads. It is charted for the stitches-like-silk Crescent Colours hand-dyed floss ($18) + two DMC's ~ or the Belle Soie.
June's second project has a special place in America's history of sampler-making. As recorded by Marsha Parker of The Scarlet Letter in her introduction to this exquisite piece, Elizabeth Hudson worked her sampler under the instruction of Elizabeth Marsh and her daughter Ann Marsh, and as such this sampler is part of Philadelphia's earliest identifiable group of samplers, made between 1725 and 1740. The shop model on the right is being stitched using a variety of silks.

During what remains of June, you can save 15% on your purchase of the chart + supplies for this exquisite reproduction. You have a variety of choices in addition to choosing the linen count you'd like, so please be specific when ordering. Here are some examples, with the 15% deducted, using 40c hand-dyed linen with 2-inch margins (linen prices will increase with larger counts and larger margins):
June features "Adeste Fideles" by Fancy Work. We will use a no-sew finishing technique (a.k.a. cabochon) on styrofoam. Students supply backing fabric, accent braid/gimp, and optional ribbon for hangar. Below is our shop model on 32ct (colors changed slightly from the chart).
